Followed the steps, will test it when ECW is over.
Worked from my friends, his was strict when he tested it and after that he was open to live.

Well, before it said my connection was good when I tested it on the dashboard, but when I'd go to join live it said it was unavailable.
I called customer support, he said to open those ports.
I have a motorola surfboard modem which I can't bypass because time warner is a bitch, and I have a lynksis wireless-G router that I have splitting the cord to my computer and my 360.
I'm having technical troubles with my computer these days (maybe getting to be time to replace it) so for some reason no wireless card or USB drive works right now.
Once you involve wireless I can't help. All open ports should do is make it so that your NAT isn't strict and you can join most games + chat with most people. If it doesn't work at all opening those ports shouldn't do anything.
Honestly it can be a lot of shit with what you said. :(

No luck...my router is compatible.
Only thing I can think of is that time warner is not supporting it, in which case, I'll be changing providers, because they annoy me as it is with weekly ads in my mailbox for phone service when I told them I didn't want or need it, and I just found out they charged me for an HBO package I didn't want.
how do you check your connection?

Go to settings in the dashboard.
It says I'm connected, my router is compatible according to the website, the only thing I can think of is the damn ISP since time warner is not listed as compatible on the site, but road runner is, which is what time warner provides.

I ended up putting the ip address for my xbox in the DMZ setting in the router homepage. This way it's bypassed by the NAT. Works awesome for me and I have a 4 year old router.
How do I open/ bypass NAT on my router?

It is sometimes called DMZ. You don't want to disable the NAT because that will shut off internet to the network.

how do you get the xbox's ip adress?

It's on the dashboard under the purple blade. I can't remember the name of it. Go to network settings and you should be able to find it.
I told Tyr that in a xbox text message but he didn't listen..

Just go to the system blade all the way to the right and go to network settings and then edit settings and it should bring you to the next page and there are two tabs "Basic" and "Additional". It's the second line on the "Basic" tab.
